📣  Call for a Mural at GC Ten Weyngaert

Are you a visual artist with a passion for community and creation? Let your work shine on our wall!

About the project

GC Ten Weyngaert (Forest) is a warm and welcoming space where everyone from Forest and beyond can feel at home. The community centre hosts a wide range of local organisations — from sports clubs and a music school to local artists — and offers a rich programme of socio-cultural activities.

At the heart of the centre lies a long white corridor for which we are launching an open call to create a 42 m² mural (13 m wide x 3.5 m high).

The mural should be inspired by seven core values from the centre’s mission and vision: home – building bridges – engagement – vibrancy – laboratory – encounter – sustainability.
We invite artists to visually interpret these values in an appealing design that encourages visitors to explore the centre and its diverse activities. The mural will be located inside the building but should also reflect the identity of the municipality of Forest, where the centre is based.

What we offer

• A fee of €2,500 (excl. VAT)
• An aluminium rolling scaffold provided by Ten Weyngaert
• A warm welcome and light support during the process
• A materials budget (maximum €1,000) as requested by the artist

What we ask

Participants are asked to submit a proposal including:
• Contact details
• Link to portfolio
• CV (optional)
• Place of residence
• Short motivation text
• Description of a conceptual idea
• Moodboard, visual reference, or rough sketch (no finished design required)
• Estimated material costs
